Ep. 1: Billy Brown & Melanie Bahniuk

 
 

Billy Brown is an actor/singer from Edmonton, Alberta. In 2014 he graduated from the Musical Theatre Program at MacEwan University, and in 2018 he graduated from the BFA Acting Program at the University of Alberta. His most recent theatre credits include Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet (Theatre Calgary’s Shakespeare by the Bow), Puck in A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Theatre Calgary’s Shakespeare by the Bow), John in John & Jen (Imagine Performing Arts), Speed in The Two Gentlemen of Verona (Theatre Calgary’s Shakespeare by the Bow), Lyngstrand in The Lady from the Sea (Studio Theatre), Moth in Love’s Labours Lost (Freewill Shakespeare), Sampson in Romeo and Juliet (Freewill Shakespeare), and Skip Goldman in Rumpelstiltskin (Alberta Opera).

Mel (she/they) is a multidisciplinary artist and arts administrator on Treaty 6 territory, and currently residing in Edmonton! Mel is a graduate of the BFA Acting program at the U of A, and the Theatre Arts Program at MacEwan University. Select credits include Romeo & Juliet, A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Shakespeare by the Bow and Theatre Calgary), Maria in the Feature Film They Who Surround Us, and Lauren in the short film BEARCAT. She recently produced a documentary for Telus STORYHIVE titled Oma, and has worked in the arts admin realm for the Nextfest Arts Company, and the Edmonton Fringe Festival. In their spare time, Mel loves to take their pup Finn for long walks in the river valley, drinking brews with pals, and singing karaoke in their car.
